Fort Worth: McCulley

What to Expect

The McCulley site is located off of Parker Henderson Road, just south of Prairie Dog Park in Fort Worth District 5. To date, two wells have been drilled on the McCulley padsite.

The McCulley 3H, 4H and 5H are expected to be drilled consecutively, beginning in August 2010.

Check back soon for updates.

Development Plan

Chesapeake Energy plans to develop 162 acres of minerals from this padsite, including the roughly 40 acres belonging to Fort Worth’s Prairie Dog Park. In anticipation of the expected revenue resulting from mineral development through Chesapeake’s drilling operations at this location, the Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Board have created a park master plan to redevelop Prairie Dog Park. This proposed site will bring a direct benefit to the Echo Heights community.

In addition, Chesapeake Energy is required to replace 40% of the tree canopy removed during site construction, and will be asking the city to either add the trees to the park's master plan, or allow the company to plant the trees in the park at the direction of city staff.

Truck Route

The approved truck route will approach the McCulley site from the south by way of Mansfield Hwy (287 Business) and then travel north on Parker Henderson Road.  In an effort to be a good neighbor, Chesapeake Energy has recognized that some of the W.M. Green Elementary School traffic does use Parker Henderson Road, and has agreed to limit large truck traffic during drop-off and pick-up times on scheduled school days.
