Fort Worth: Pear

What to Expect

Chesapeake Energy Corporation's Pear padsite is located just west of the intersection of Sycamore School Road and McCart Avenue. To date, one well has been drilled on the Pear site and pipeline has been installed.

Pipeline and Compressor Stations

Chesapeake Midstream Partners began construction on the much anticipated Pear pipeline route, which will serve all current and future wells on the Pear padsite. This pipeline route will not go through any neighborhoods, but instead was designed to utilize portions of City of Fort Worth right-of-way along McCart and Sycamore School roads.

Temporary construction site will be set up in the northern portion of the Albertson's parking lot near McCart and Sycamore School roads. All agreements and permissions have been granted to conduct this work on the Albertson's property. Furthermore, all permissions have been granted by the City of Fort Worth and impacted private landowners for easements and temporary work access. Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 2011.

No compressor stations are needed on this site.

For more information on pipeline and compressor stations, visit our pipeline page or view our pipeline brochure here.

Site Details

The Pear padsite will develop the minerals of parts of Candleridge, Wedgwood South, Far Southwest and Greenridge neighborhoods. Chesapeake is working closely with the City of Fort Worth and neighborhood leadership, and will make the following strict guidelines ensure drilling operations are as safe and as unobtrusive as possible.

  • Truck traffic - During rigging up and down, 18-wheel traffic will be prohibited during 7:30-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m., during the fracking process
  • Truck traffic - 18-wheel traffic will be prohibited during 7:30-9:00 a.m. only
  • Site access – all truck traffic will enter and exit the drillsite only from McCart
  • Compressor stations – there will be no compressor station at this property
  • Sound mitigation – 32-foot sound walls will be used at this site
  • Light mitigation – the lights on the drilling will be directed downward
  • Landscaping – plant landscaping on the south and west sides of the drillsite during the padsite construction phase
  • Fresh-water pond – water will come from another site
