Site Plan

We are committed to ensuring that our operations are as minimally intrusive to your neighborhood as possible. That’s why, as part of our Best on the Block initiative, Chesapeake has worked closely with urban landscape architects and community leaders to create a customized site plan for the Westridge location. Improvements to the site include the removal of an aging apartment complex in disrepair and the installation of attractive fencing and an access road.

As part of our commitment to the Westridge neighborhoods, during drilling operations Chesapeake has planned the following:

·         Ordinance-required sound mitigation on all four sides of this location

·         Built-for-purpose electric drilling rig to mitigate sound and emissions

·         An optimized transportation plan employing right-hand turns to and from Bryant Irvin (a commercial route); no traffic on Westridge Avenue or other neighborhood streets

·         Green completion — no flaring at this location

·         24-hour security during drilling operations

We’ve also created a comprehensive landscaping plan that will add lush greenery to the area surrounding the padsite.

Economic Benefits

The Westridge site holds tremendous potential. If fully developed, the site can provide a total economic impact of more than $100 million1, including:

  • $14.3 million in royalties for homes and businesses.
  • $6.5 million in local and state tax revenue that helps fund schools, local police and fire departments and other important local services
  • Additional lease bonus potential for area residents, schools, non-profit organizations and the City of Fort Worth

Production Units

Chesapeake plans to drill up to six consecutive wells into five pooled drilling units during this first visit to the Westridge padsite. A pooled drilling unit is an area of contiguous acreage grouped together with adjoining leased tracts to maximize the efficiency of natural gas production in an area. Due to the large number of leases previously acquired to the west of Bryant Irvin, the Eagle, Birdie, Mulligan, Par and Tee units will be among the units first drilled. Through horizontal drilling, Chesapeake is able to maximize natural gas production in any given unit while maintaining a minimal footprint.  It is Chesapeake’s goal to realize the full potential of the Westridge development area through various drilling phases in the future.

Below is a map of the preliminary unit structure. Please note that this is not a final unit map, and the units will not be finalized until all leases have been secured and the well starts producing. However, this map will give you a general idea of the unit that your property has been placed.
