Chesapeake Energy Corporation continued its support of Haynesville Shale communities with the donation of a 2006 Chevy Silverado, formerly of Chesapeake's work fleet, to Evergreen Foundation.
Chesapeake handed over the keys to the double-cab pickup truck which will be used in the lawn and maintenance service program offered by the participating clients of Evergreen. The foundation and its many services are established to offer independence and increased quality of life to those with developmental disabilities, said Corey Shadd, Evergreen Development Specialist.
"We are thrilled with the investment Chesapeake has made in Evergreen and the areas it serves," said Shadd. "Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are often an untapped loyal and motivated work force that serves to enhance the business environment. Through the use of this vehicle, Evergreen will be able to more easily provide vocational opportunities that enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and increase the self-esteem of its participants."
